Superintendent 1

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Superintendent 1 in Tempe to support planning, coordination, and field execution for assigned construction projects. The role offers a progression path to Superintendent 2 and operates within a professional non-union environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, company staff, materials, equipment, and site logistics.
• Lead daily and weekly coordination meetings and participate in owner, architect, and project review meetings.
• Develop and maintain work plans, schedules, cost tracking, reports, logs, and project documentation.
• Promote an injury-free jobsite, investigate incidents, support quality programs, and oversee project compliance.
• Manage self-perform work, procurement processes, timecard approvals, staffing, closeout activities, and project changes.
• Communicate project information to owners, design teams, authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments.

Required Experience

• At least 3 years of construction experience, including 1 or more years in field supervision.
• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, project management and accounting software, MS Office, Lean practices, layout, crane flagging, rigging, and self-perform operations.
• Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, organization, and relationship-building abilities.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and work non-traditional hours as project conditions require.
