Steel Superintendent

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Steel Superintendent to manage a moderately complex project or major project scope from planning through closeout. The role leads field operations, coordinates project teams and subcontractors, and supports safe, timely and profitable delivery.

Responsibilities

• Direct subcontractors, suppliers, field staff, workflow and site logistics.
• Develop and maintain work plans, schedules, staffing plans and project documentation.
• Lead daily and trade coordination meetings and participate in owner, architect and project review meetings.
• Manage material, equipment, timecard, quality, cost and procurement processes.
• Maintain safety standards, investigate incidents, support quality assurance and coordinate project closeout.
• Identify project risks, manage changes and collaborate with project management on schedule and cost impacts.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or a related field is preferred.
• At least 5 years of construction experience and 3 years of field supervision experience.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, project management software, construction technology, layout, crane flagging and rigging.
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office, project management and accounting software, scheduling software and Lean processes.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work non-traditional hours as project needs require.
