Senior Superintendent - Water/Wastewater

Job Summary

Garney Construction is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead water, wastewater, and pipeline construction operations in Aurora, Colorado. The role directs field execution, safety, quality, scheduling, workforce development, and coordination with project management.

Project Details

The position supports heavy civil water and wastewater work, including pipeline and plant construction with disinfection and testing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Set site safety standards and oversee quality control.
• Build look-ahead schedules and help maintain CPM schedules.
• Coordinate with project management on costs, labor quantities, drawings, RFIs, and change orders.
• Develop construction means and methods and manage subcontractors.
• Direct layout, field engineering, craftsmen, foremen, and labor activities.
• Recruit, train, and mentor field personnel and other superintendents.

Required Experience

• At least 10 years of heavy construction experience, including 3 or more years as a superintendent on comparable work.
• Water, wastewater, and pipeline construction knowledge, including plant disinfection and testing.
• Strong leadership, safety, planning, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills.
• Competent Person qualification and proficiency with Excel required.
• ASTA, Primavera, and Bluebeam experience is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $160,000-$190,000, with a $1,475 monthly car allowance and gas card. Benefits include an ESOP, 401(k), insurance coverage, FSA/HSA options, disability coverage, wellness and employee assistance programs, paid holidays, paid vacation, and a bonus program.
