Senior Safety Specialist

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Specialist in Houston to coordinate and implement field safety programs for routine and complex construction projects, with a path toward Safety Manager.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and corrective-action tracking.
• Support orientations, safety meetings, committees, incentive programs, and subcontractor safety oversight.
• Assist with incident investigations, root-cause reviews, injury follow-up, and return-to-work coordination.
• Analyze safety trends, recommend preventive measures, and support insurance audits.
• Provide safety guidance and training to project and safety personnel.
• Oversee complex or multiple projects, including controlled insurance program work.

Required Experience

• At least five years of construction safety experience.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with safety management systems and tools.
• Knowledge of federal, state, local, and company safety requirements, environmental hazard testing protocols, and construction technology.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
