Senior Safety Specialist

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Specialist in Tempe to coordinate and implement safety programs across routine and complex construction projects. The role supports field leadership, subcontractors, and project teams while promoting compliance and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform site inspections, safety audits, hazard documentation, and abatement tracking.
• Lead project orientations, safety meetings, committees, and incentive programs.
• Monitor prime contractor and subcontractor safety programs and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with accident investigations, root-cause analysis, injury follow-up, and return-to-work coordination.
• Analyze safety trends, recommend corrective actions, and provide safety guidance and training.
• Support insurance audits and oversee large, complex, multiple, and controlled insurance program projects.
• Develop or improve training strategies, learning programs, and safety interventions when needed.

Required Experience

• At least five years of construction safety experience.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills and advanced proficiency with safety software and tools.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, local, and company safety regulations, environmental hazard testing protocols, and construction technology.
• Bachelor's degree in a safety or health-related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
