Senior Project Engineer - Healthcare Construction

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to manage a small healthcare construction project or an assigned portion of a larger project. The role combines project administration, estimating, field coordination, scheduling, quality, safety, and closeout responsibilities.

Project Details

This position supports healthcare construction work in Nashville, with assignments spanning project sites and office environments. The role may involve periodic travel or relocation and requires flexibility to work non-traditional hours as project demands require.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field execution, subcontractors, vendors, materials, equipment, manpower, inspections, and project reporting.
• Lead estimates, change requests, scopes of work, subcontractor selection, procurement, and submittal tracking.
• Prepare and manage schedules for assigned work, analyze production information, and support project cost and resource decisions.
• Coordinate project, progress, owner-architect-contractor, preconstruction, and closeout meetings.
• Review subcontractor and vendor pay applications and help manage project risks, quality, safety, and contract requirements.
• Lead punch list, inspection, documentation, and closeout activities.
• Apply Lean construction practices, support self-perform opportunities, and mentor project team members.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• At least 3 years of construction experience.
• Working knowledge of construction management methods, project processes, trade scopes, labor productivity, and Lean practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management and accounting software, and required construction technology.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, organization, and leadership skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and perform frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
