Senior Project Engineer

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Austin to manage a small project or an assigned scope within a larger project, with responsibility for project administration, field coordination, quality, safety, and execution.

Responsibilities

• Support safety, quality, estimating, change management, procurement, and project administration activities.
• Coordinate drawings, submittals, inspections, project meetings, reports, schedules, and delivery tracking.
• Lead estimates, subcontractor and vendor selection, purchase orders, pay application reviews, and assigned project schedules.
• Monitor production, project risks, subcontractor performance, financials, and resource allocation.
• Manage punch lists, inspections, quality and cost tracking, documentation, and project closeout.
• Apply Lean practices, support self-perform opportunities, and mentor project team members.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• At least 3 years of construction experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management and accounting software, and construction technology.
• Knowledge of construction means and methods, Lean processes, self-perform work, labor productivity, and project controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work at project sites or in an office, lift up to 25 pounds, and work non-traditional hours as project needs require.
