Senior M/E Engineer- Mission Critical

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Senior M/E Engineer in Charlotte to lead increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction work for mission-critical projects. The role combines preconstruction estimating, project coordination, quality oversight, commissioning, client engagement, and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical and electrical estimates, systems analyses, scopes of work, bid evaluations, and sequencing plans.
• Review design documents, shop drawings, and submittals while supporting constructability and quality-control efforts.
• Coordinate inspections, commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, functional testing, and correction of deficiencies.
• Support subcontractor negotiations, equipment procurement, staffing, resource allocation, and schedule planning.
• Mentor less experienced staff, represent the M/E group with clients, and contribute to interviews, presentations, and business development.
• Promote safety, quality, inclusion, and continuous improvement across assigned work.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 10 or more years of construction management experience preferred.
• Advanced communication, presentation, MS Office, construction technology, Lean, budgeting, and project-management capabilities.
• Working knowledge of plans, specifications, scheduling software, BIM, construction M/E tools, ASE, and Lens.
• Ability to construct projects from start to finish, prepare budgets or GMPs, complete range estimates, and manage teams.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
