Project Manager 1, Mission Critical

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Project Manager 1 to lead mission critical construction projects — including data centers and advanced industrial facilities — as part of its Advanced Facilities Group based in Kansas City. The PM will own all aspects of project administration and field coordination, partnering closely with the Project Superintendent from preconstruction through closeout.

Project Details

Work is performed within JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group, which focuses on large-scale data center, semiconductor, and industrial and manufacturing projects across the country.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall project administration including buyout, submittals, subcontracts, pay applications, and change orders.
• Lead preconstruction support activities such as scope development, bid package preparation, and schedule creation.
• Develop and maintain the project schedule using Lean principles; identify and mitigate impacts from weather, scope changes, or manpower issues.
• Coordinate all project stakeholders including owners, design teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Prepare and present monthly cost and margin forecasts; maintain budget accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead OAC meetings, monthly project reviews, and progress meetings.
• Manage project closeout including punch lists, financials, subcontracts, and warranties.
• Champion JE Dunn's safety culture and investigate incidents as needed.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of construction management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Advanced proficiency in project management and accounting software, construction technology, and scheduling software.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office and Lean process application.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
• Willingness to travel and/or relocate and work non-traditional hours as project needs require.
