Project Manager 1 Healthcare Construction

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Project Manager 1 focused on healthcare construction in Kansas City, Missouri. This role leads overall project direction and administration — either independently on smaller projects or as part of a larger project team alongside the Project Superintendent.

Responsibilities

• Champion the company's safety culture and lead incident investigations and retraining.
• Manage the preconstruction and buyout processes, including bid package development, scope review, and subcontract issuance.
• Coordinate submittals, shop drawings, and material procurement with all project stakeholders.
• Lead Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings, monthly project reviews, and progress meetings.
• Prepare and manage the project schedule using Lean principles; track labor, materials, and procurement.
• Process change requests, owner/architect approvals, and monthly pay applications.
• Maintain monthly cost and margin forecasts; monitor budget performance and highlight discrepancies.
• Lead project closeout including punch lists, financials, subcontracts, and warranties.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of construction management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office; advanced proficiency in project management, accounting, scheduling, and construction technology software.
• Ability to apply Lean process and philosophy.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
