Project Engineer 1 Santa Clara

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer 1 in Santa Clara to support field execution, project documentation, quality, safety, procurement, and closeout activities while developing core construction management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams with site observations, daily and weekly reporting, manpower and equipment tracking, and schedule updates.
• Assist with quality planning, safety reviews, inspections, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
• Maintain current drawings and specifications, procurement logs, shop drawing tracking, and delivery follow-up.
• Participate in estimating, change management, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor proposal reviews, project meetings, and self-perform work activities.
• Build collaborative working relationships with tradespeople, subcontractors, superintendents, and other project partners.
• Apply construction fundamentals, company standards, and Lean practices to assigned work.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Entry-level construction experience.
• Working knowledge of construction technology, means and methods, self-perform work, labor productivity, and project organization.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate, work accurately and promptly, and support project productivity.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $101,000-$103,000 per year, depending on experience, with eligibility for a target performance bonus. The position is classified as professional non-union and includes JE Dunn's professional benefits package.
