Project Engineer 1

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is hiring an entry-level Project Engineer 1 in Cheyenne to support construction operations, field coordination, documentation, and project closeout activities.

Responsibilities

• Support safety, quality assurance, estimating, change management, and construction planning activities.
• Monitor crews, labor hours, materials, equipment, and self-perform production in the field.
• Assist with punch lists, inspections, safety and quality reviews, project meetings, and progress reporting.
• Maintain current drawings and specifications, procurement logs, shop drawing tracking, and delivery records.
• Provide schedule updates and support project closeout, including as-built drawings and operations and maintenance documentation.
• Build collaborative working relationships with project teams, tradespeople, subcontractors, and field leadership while applying Lean practices.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Entry-level construction experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of construction technology, means and methods, self-perform work, labor productivity, and Lean principles.
• Ability to work accurately, collaborate with project teams, and meet project needs, including non-traditional hours when required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and reaching activities.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $72,000-$90,000 per year depending on experience, with eligibility for a target performance bonus. The position is classified as professional non-union and includes an associated benefits package.
