Project Director, Power Market

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Project Director, Power Market to provide strategic and operational leadership for natural gas and thermal power generation projects. The position oversees project delivery, client relationships, risk, safety, financial performance, schedule, quality, and team development.

Project Details

The role supports the Advanced Facilities Group on complex industrial and power-generation work, including projects delivered through EPC contracts. The preferred location is Atlanta, Georgia, or Kansas City, Missouri, with extensive travel required.

Responsibilities

• Lead work programs from pursuit and preconstruction through project closeout.
• Direct safety, schedule, financial, quality, staffing, and risk-management activities.
• Serve as the senior client relationship executive and develop repeat business opportunities.
• Guide subcontractor and engineering-partner selection and strategy.
• Resolve contractual, commercial, financial, and client issues, including change orders and contingency decisions.
• Support corporate strategy, industry engagement, diversity and inclusion, and best-practice initiatives.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• At least 15 years of construction management experience preferred and at least 5 years of people management experience required.
• Demonstrated success leading multiple large or complex projects or teams.
• Strong knowledge of power-generation technologies, including natural gas and thermal systems, design, construction, and commissioning.
• Advanced capability in EPC delivery, risk management, commercial structures, project accounting software such as CMiC, estimating, and Lean processes.
• Experience managing major power projects from pursuit through closeout and relationships with utilities, developers, and industry stakeholders preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a professional non-union position with an employer-provided benefits package. The role may require overnight travel, non-traditional hours, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
