Health, Safety, and Environment Student

Job Summary

PCL Construction Services is seeking a Health, Safety, and Environment Student for a three-month full-time assignment with its Denver district and U.S. Buildings team. This temporary opportunity provides hands-on construction safety experience, mentorship, and exposure to active projects.

Responsibilities

• Support site HSE staff with inspections, incident investigations, employee orientations, and safety documentation.
• Help develop and implement project-specific HSE plans and deliver safety orientations and programs to field personnel.
• Collect, review, and distribute safety statistics and maintain HSE records in company databases.
• Assist with PSI program implementation, audits, and compliance with company standards, OSHA requirements, and applicable state regulations.

Required Experience

• OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour training certificate.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard identification and assessment, occupational health, and industrial hygiene practices.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction-related software.
• Strong communication, organization, research, and interpersonal skills.
• Must be at least 18, hold a valid driver’s license, have reliable transportation, and be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be available full time in Colorado from May through August.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay is $22-$28 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. The program includes hands-on project experience, mentorship, networking, and potential pathways to full-time employment.
