General Superintendent- Power Group

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a General Superintendent to provide senior field leadership for natural gas and thermal power generation projects in its Advanced Facilities Group. The role oversees safe, coordinated, and high-quality delivery from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout.

Project Details

The position supports complex power facilities involving gas and steam turbines, HRSG components, balance-of-plant equipment, large-scale rigging, heavy mechanical installations, and integrated mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct field operations, project sequencing, subcontractor coordination, staffing, materials, equipment, and self-perform work across complex projects.
• Lead safety performance, incident response, quality control, documentation, reporting, cost tracking, and closeout activities.
• Coordinate with owners, engineers, architects, governing authorities, trade partners, OEM advisors, project managers, and commissioning teams.
• Support constructability reviews, planning, procurement, buyout, schedule and change management, project reviews, and contract administration.
• Coordinate system walk-downs, turnover packages, startup, testing, outages, cutovers, and energization activities.
• Develop field personnel, recruit talent, mentor teams, and help establish execution standards for the company's power market.

Required Experience

• At least 12 years of construction experience and 10 years of field supervision experience.
• Experience leading major power generation projects from pursuit or planning through closeout is preferred.
• Background coordinating commissioning and startup for complex mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with heavy rigging, large mechanical installations, high-energy systems, and power-plant safety protocols.
• Advanced knowledge of natural gas and thermal power systems, QA/QC, rigging, layout, productivity, cost management, and multi-contractor operations.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required. Confined Space knowledge or training is relevant to the role.
