Job Summary

Garney is seeking a Field Engineer in Charleston to support water and wastewater construction operations and serve as a connection between office engineering staff, field crews, and subcontractors. This entry-level opportunity offers a path toward project management experience.

Project Details

The role supports water and wastewater infrastructure work, with field-based responsibilities focused on construction quality, documentation, materials, and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Verify that field and subcontractor work follows engineering plans and specifications.
• Perform site surveying and layout activities.
• Review shop drawings and maintain as-built information.
• Inspect completed work and confirm materials are properly received and stored.
• Prepare daily and periodic project reports.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and communicate project information between field and office teams.

Required Experience

• Degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
• Ability to work the schedule and hours required for project delivery.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary starts at $75,000 per year.
