Field Engineer/Project Engineer, Advanced Industries

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Field Engineer/Project Engineer 2 to support advanced industrial construction projects in Hillsboro. The role provides hands-on project engineering, field coordination, documentation, safety, quality, and project administration support.

Project Details

The Advanced Facilities Group delivers large industrial and manufacturing, data center, and semiconductor projects. The position works with project teams in a field-based construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Support field execution, crew planning, self-perform tracking, project reporting, and schedule updates.
• Assist with safety plans, toolbox talks, quality reviews, inspections, punch lists, and closeout activities.
• Prepare estimates, quantity takeoffs, change management documentation, work plans, daily logs, and project reports.
• Track procurement, submittals, shop drawings, deliveries, equipment, materials, and project costs.
• Coordinate subcontractor scopes, project meetings, internal support functions, and communications with field personnel.
• Maintain project administration and job setup in CMiC and other company systems.
• Apply construction best practices and Lean methods while supporting productivity improvements and team development.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least two years of construction experience.
• Working knowledge of construction management fundamentals, self-perform work, labor productivity, project technology, and Lean principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Ability to collaborate with tradespeople, subcontractors, superintendents, and project team members.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work in varied weather and active jobsite conditions.

Compensation and Benefits
