Field Engineer, Mission Critical

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Field Engineer 2 for its Advanced Facilities Group in El Paso. This role supports field operations, self-perform work, crew coordination, safety, quality, and construction planning on mission-critical projects.

Project Details

The Advanced Facilities Group delivers large industrial and manufacturing, data center, and semiconductor projects. The Field Engineer will work alongside superintendents, craft workers, subcontractors, and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute and report self-perform work while working within a crew.
• Plan crew activities, manage daily task plans, update lookahead schedules, and report progress.
• Support project safety plans, training, toolbox talks, inspections, and safety reviews.
• Assist with quality control, punch lists, city inspections, cost tracking, equipment analysis, and documentation.
• Coordinate with the superintendent and other project participants on crew size, sequencing, productivity, and contractor activities.
• Apply Lean construction practices, including work planning and the Last Planner System.

Required Experience

• At least two years of construction experience.
• Construction supervision experience of up to two years is preferred.
• Preferred bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of construction methods, self-perform operations, labor productivity, crane flagging and rigging, and trade scopes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and required company construction technology.
• Ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with project teams, and develop layout and productivity skills.
