Field Engineer

Job Summary

PCL Solar Constructors USA Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer in Camden, Ohio, to support renewable energy construction projects while developing practical experience in field operations, engineering, project management, and quality control.

Project Details

This role supports solar construction projects and may require assignment to projects in Ohio, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, Washington, and other states. Travel and potential transfer between projects are expected.

Responsibilities

• Support site safety inspections, orientations, hazard identification, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate workforce planning with the superintendent.
• Maintain project records and document-control processes.
• Assist with RFIs, shop drawings, changes, billings, subcontractor coordination, and self-perform work tracking.
• Coordinate third-party inspections and support quality plans and Inspection and Test Plans.
• Track labor, crew requirements, quantities, and field issues.
• Coach junior field engineers, students, and interns while maintaining productive partner relationships.

Required Experience

• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Entry-level field engineering or coordination experience is preferred; relevant internships may count.
• Working knowledge of construction specifications, methods, scheduling, equipment, self-perform activities, and subcontracted scopes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical communication with trade contractors, designers, and inspectors.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction-related software.
