Electrical Project Director

Job Summary

PCL Industrial Services is seeking an Electrical Project Director to provide senior leadership for large, complex industrial electrical projects. This role oversees project execution, commercial performance, safety, quality, and client relationships across one or more active sites.

Project Details

The project portfolio may include mission-critical data centers, power generation, mining and mineral processing, semiconductor and advanced manufacturing, utility infrastructure, water and wastewater, and other heavy industrial facilities. Electrical scopes include substations, medium- and high-voltage distribution, switchgear, emergency power, generators, controls, PLC/SCADA, grounding, cable systems, testing, commissioning, and turnover.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety, budget, schedule, quality, productivity, and profitability performance for self-perform and subcontracted electrical work.
• Direct constructability reviews, design coordination, procurement, prefabrication, installation, energization planning, commissioning, and punch-list completion.
• Lead electrical field teams and mentor superintendents, general foremen, field engineers, and QA/QC personnel.
• Manage contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, changes, claims, disputes, and project risk.
• Coordinate with owners, EPC firms, utilities, consultants, municipalities, trade contractors, and commissioning agents.
• Support estimating, preconstruction, execution planning, logistics, staffing plans, and client pursuits.

Required Experience

• 15 or more years of progressive industrial construction experience leading electrical scopes on large, complex projects.
• Post-secondary education or equivalent training in electrical or industrial engineering, construction management, engineering technology, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NETA, IEEE, ANSI, electrical completion, commissioning, and industrial electrical construction methods.
• Experience with industrial project delivery methods such as lump sum, GMP, cost-plus, EPC, EPCM, IPD, progressive design-build, or CMAR.
• Knowledge of OSHA 1910/1926, arc-flash controls, lockout/tagout, environmental requirements, construction codes, and trade agreements.
• Experience with estimating, preconstruction, or work-package planning is preferred.
• Willingness to travel to or relocate near active project sites.
