Commissioning Engineer

Job Summary

PCL Construction Services is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support its growing national data center business unit in Texas and Utah. The role coordinates system startup, testing, documentation, and turnover across multidisciplinary project teams.

Project Details

The position supports data center work and requires experience commissioning industrial or water and wastewater systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field startup, commissioning, functional testing, and system handover activities.
• Maintain commissioning schedules, look-ahead plans, progress reports, and tracking systems.
• Review testing records and turnover documentation for compliance with design and contract requirements.
• Provide technical support during installation and testing while resolving issues and communicating risks.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, stakeholders, and the Commissioning Manager.
• Promote safe, quality-focused, and collaborative site execution.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or control systems engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• At least three years of startup and commissioning experience with industrial or water and wastewater systems.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and controls, systems integration, construction processes, scheduling, and risk management.
• Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and independent working skills.
• Familiarity with commissioning software and reporting platforms.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
