Building Systems Manager

Job Summary

PCL Construction Services is seeking a Building Systems Manager for its California Buildings office in Los Angeles. The role oversees mechanical and electrical construction coordination, trade performance, commissioning, and stakeholder communication on building projects.

Project Details

The position supports building systems work involving mechanical, electrical, controls, architectural, civil, and structural coordination.

Responsibilities

• Monitor building systems trade progress for quality, schedule, constructability, and compliance with contract documents.
• Manage submittals, coordination documents, drawing coordination, and model coordination activities.
• Support schedule planning and sequencing for building systems work.
• Review trade contracts and manage related risks, changes, budget impacts, and schedule effects.
• Lead the project team through building systems commissioning.
• Develop customer-focused relationships with project stakeholders and decision makers.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; related mechanical, electrical, controls, or trades education preferred.
• Seven to ten years of progressive mechanical or electrical construction experience, including at least two years supervising others.
• Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, construction practices, building codes, and relevant construction law.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary drawings and specifications and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong planning, organization, time management, delegation, and software adaptability skills.

Compensation and Benefits
