Assistant Superintendent - Healthcare Construction

Job Summary

McCarthy Building Companies is seeking an Assistant Superintendent in Dallas to support field leadership and help deliver healthcare construction projects. This role offers a path toward future Project Superintendent responsibilities.

Project Details

The position supports commercial healthcare construction projects and works closely with the Project Superintendent, Project Manager, engineers, and other field staff.

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of construction schedules, project cost systems, subcontracts, purchase orders, and staff responsibility assignments.
• Coordinate training and development for Project Engineers and Interns while providing administrative support to the Project Superintendent.
• Lead project staff, monitor job costs, maintain reporting, and process monthly owner payment applications.
• Review change requests, change orders, and applicable claims, and assist with quarterly profit projections and labor-cost analysis.
• Implement project safety, equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, and total quality programs.
• Manage project closeout preparation and execution.

Required Experience

• At least three years of construction project experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• General knowledge of construction principles and processes.
• Experience managing field staff and a demonstrated commitment to safety and owner relationships.
• Self-perform construction experience is preferred.
