Assistant Safety Manager - Water & Wastewater

Job Summary

McCarthy Building Companies is seeking an Assistant Safety Manager in Dallas to administer project safety activities and strengthen a proactive safety culture on water and wastewater construction work.

Project Details

The role supports large water and wastewater projects and may coordinate with project teams, owners, trades, subcontractors, and insurance partners.

Responsibilities

• Administer site safety programs, orientations, inspections, toolbox meetings, and compliance documentation.
• Confirm that protective equipment, first-aid supplies, posted safety information, and required records are maintained.
• Investigate injuries, illnesses, near misses, and accidents; coordinate corrective actions and OSHA-related logs.
• Identify construction hazards and enforce company safety policies.
• Share safety reports, inspections, pre-plans, directives, and related records with the Division Safety Director.

Required Experience

• At least three years managing safety activities on large water, healthcare, commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or comparable construction projects.
• A related bachelor's degree is preferred.
• OSHA 500 is preferred.
• Spanish fluency is preferred.
• Experience with safety orientations, substance-abuse programs, incident reporting, and field safety administration.
• Strong communication, organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
