Assistant Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

Job Summary

Garney is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Nashville to support the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role partners with project leadership, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients while developing project management expertise.

Project Details

The position supports water and wastewater construction projects and includes coordination between office functions and project sites.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain schedules, budgets, resource plans, forecasts, billing records, and project documentation.
• Track submittals, RFIs, change orders, procurement, contract requirements, and project risks.
• Support field operations, subcontractor coordination, quality verification, and safety and environmental compliance.
• Participate in project meetings, record decisions and action items, and communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
• Visit jobsites to review progress and assist field personnel.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline.
• One to three years of project coordination, construction, or field experience preferred.
• Strong organization, communication, time management, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Familiarity with scheduling software, construction documents, and standard project processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and travel to project sites as needed.
