Aptitude Project Manager 2 Traveling

Job Summary

JE Dunn's technology integration subsidiary, Aptitude, is hiring a traveling Project Manager to lead technology scopes — including IT, security, and life safety systems — on commercial and industrial construction projects across the United States. This role requires up to 100% travel and serves as a subject matter expert bridging construction and technology delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage full project lifecycle for technology integration scopes: budgets, schedules, staffing, billing, and collections.
• Conduct constructability reviews, conceptual estimating, quantity takeoffs, and vendor/trade partner pricing.
• Develop project-specific technology scopes of work and responsibility matrices.
• Coordinate design assist, installation, and network integration of complete building technology systems.
• Track and report progress on project milestones to stakeholders and team leaders throughout the project.
• Lead incident-free safety culture through individual actions and mentoring of team members.
• Support business development and project pursuit activities to grow the Aptitude offering.
• Identify emerging smart building technologies and facilitate internal and external training.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training of Aptitude staff.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of experience in Information Technology, Security, or Life Safety related systems.
• 5+ years of project management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, IT, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Proficiency in MS Office; strong presentation, proposal, and work-plan development skills.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% and work non-traditional hours as project needs dictate.
