Job Summary

Civil West, part of the PCL family of companies, is seeking an Accounting Student 1 in Long Beach to gain practical experience supporting construction project teams. Responsibilities

• Support implementation of project health, safety, and environmental plans, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices.
• Assist with project-specific training, hazard identification, inspections, emergency planning, and security requirements.
• Review trade contractor documentation and monitor safety compliance, including equipment and tool inspection records.
• Report incidents to appropriate stakeholders and assist with investigations and corrective actions.
• Provide project teams with safety information, trends, and action plans while maintaining effective working relationships.

Required Experience

• Current enrollment in a degree program.
• Progress toward a bachelor's degree or diploma in occupational health and safety is preferred.
• Progress toward a safety designation is expected.
• Strong verbal, written, presentation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to learn construction processes, terminology, applicable occupational health and safety requirements, environmental legislation, and HSE procedures.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and adaptability with new technology.
