Job Summary

Kiewit is hiring an entry-level Field/Office Engineer for its Eastern District transportation operations. The position supports field execution, project administration, estimating, and construction engineering on heavy civil work.

Project Details

The Eastern District delivers bridge, transit, foundation, tunnel, water and wastewater, structural steel, concrete, earthwork, pile driving, caisson, and energy projects across the Northeast, Great Lakes, and other eastern U.S. locations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, calculate quantities, support surveying and layout, prepare work plans, and compile as-built information.
• Support job hazard analyses, safety meetings, material deliveries, work scheduling, field supervision, and subcontractor coordination.
• Prepare takeoffs, engineering calculations, submittal data, purchase orders, project records, daily reports, RFIs, cost entries, change orders, and estimating reviews.
• Help analyze historical production and cost information and identify project risks during bid preparation.

Required Experience

• 0-1 years of related construction experience.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications and use Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organization, communication, time management, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to access active construction sites in varied climates and conditions.
• Ability to travel, relocate, work overtime and weekends as business needs require.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $85,020-$100,000 per year. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement plans with matching, and paid time off.
