Traveling Equipment Superintendent - Kiewit Equipment Services

Job Summary

Kiewit Equipment Services is seeking a Traveling Equipment Superintendent to lead equipment maintenance, readiness, utilization, and field support for transportation construction operations. The initial assignment is based in Omaha, Nebraska, with extensive travel to project locations.

Project Details

The role supports Kiewit's transportation construction projects and broad equipment fleet. Assignments may take place at changing project locations according to business needs and employee development plans.

Responsibilities

• Direct field equipment maintenance and readiness activities to support project requirements.
• Monitor equipment costs, utilization, maintenance records, and operational performance.
• Prepare equipment reports for senior leadership and maintain records in company systems.
• Promote safe, quality-focused work and coordinate activities with project personnel and joint venture partners.
• Lead the training, coaching, development, engagement, and retention of direct and indirect team members.
• Work across office and field environments, including overtime and weekends when project demands require.

Required Experience

• At least five years of experience in a mechanical-related field.
• Degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or comparable construction-related experience.
• Knowledge of construction safety requirements, engineering practices, construction methods, and basic computer systems.
• Strong organization, time management, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel extensively, sometimes on short notice, and work at varying project locations.

Compensation and Benefits
