Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a Superintendent to lead structural and civil field operations for major transportation, water, and heavy civil projects through its Southern California District.

Project Details

The district delivers earthwork, water and wastewater, transportation, roadway, and power projects. Assignments may be located in San Diego, Los Angeles, Laredo, Albuquerque, Orangeville, or other locations across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate civil construction activities, labor, materials, and equipment.
• Lead, supervise, and develop craft crews and project staff.
• Enforce safety, quality, schedule, and cost-control requirements.
• Manage field documentation, change orders, job-cost updates, subcontractor administration, and client communications.
• Identify and resolve field issues while maintaining compliance with drawings, specifications, regulations, and applicable agreements.

Required Experience

• At least five years of construction experience, including three or more years in a superintendent or comparable leadership role.
• Engineering, construction management, or related education is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction disciplines, scheduling, cost control, safety, contract administration, drawings, and field supervision.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work on active construction sites, including overtime and weekends when required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $125,000-$135,000 per year. Kiewit provides relocation assistance or per diem and paid trips home for qualifying assignments, along with medical, dental, vision, wellness, life and disability insurance, retirement matching, and paid time off.
