Superintendent-Southeast

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a traveling Civil Superintendent to lead field operations for heavy civil transportation and infrastructure projects across the Southeast. The superintendent will coordinate crews, subcontractors, equipment, and resources while maintaining safe, productive, specification-compliant work.

Project Details

The Southeast District delivers highways, bridges, airports, transit, tunnels, water and wastewater facilities, dams, and other infrastructure. This position may support hurricane repair work involving pedestrian trails, bridges, drainage, mountainous terrain, slope stabilization, large riprap, and narrow work corridors.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily field activities, including scheduling, staffing, equipment, materials, and logistics.
• Lead safety execution under Kiewit's Zero Harm culture and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and field crews.
• Track progress, quality, and productivity and address performance issues.
• Maintain daily reports, timecards, inventory records, and other project documentation.
• Coach and develop field personnel.

Required Experience

• High school diploma required; a construction management or related bachelor's degree is preferred.
• At least five years of civil construction experience, including two years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with bridges, roads, design-build delivery, mountainous terrain, slope failure repair, large riprap, and constrained corridors.
• Ability to operate major grading equipment.
• Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and field leadership skills.
• Ability to travel and relocate as project demands require, including overtime and weekend work.
