Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a Civil Field Engineer to support field and office engineering activities for transportation and heavy civil construction projects in the South Central District.

Project Details

The district delivers highway and heavy civil work, including grading, excavation, trenching, bridges, concrete, asphalt paving, and related infrastructure projects. Assignments may be located across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas.

Responsibilities

• Support contract administration, project planning, scheduling, quantity tracking, cost controls, and project reporting.
• Interpret plans and specifications, prepare work packages, and coordinate field work groups.
• Oversee surveying, layout, as-built information, subcontractor activities, and field operations.
• Prepare takeoffs, purchase orders, subcontracts, change orders, RFIs, daily reports, and project records.
• Assist with job hazard analyses, safety meetings, timesheet review, schedule updates, and cost reporting.
• Compile project information for customers, vendors, subcontractors, agencies, and internal teams.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Three to five years of construction field or office engineering experience supporting concrete or civil operations.
• Experience with infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, dams, water or wastewater facilities, or civil power work.
• Ability to interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents and identify discrepancies.
• Strong communication, organization, time management, initiative, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to access active construction sites in varied environments and work overtime or weekends as needed.
