Structural Field Engineer - Infrastructure/Transportation

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a mid-level Structural Field Engineer to support infrastructure construction planning, project controls, field operations, and estimating for its Southern California District.

Project Details

The district delivers heavy civil work involving water and wastewater, transportation, roadways, earthwork, and power projects. Assignments may be located throughout Southern California, Hawaii, or other U.S. project locations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications, calculate quantities, support surveying and layout, and compile as-built information.
• Prepare work plans, hazard analyses, field records, reports, RFIs, and project correspondence.
• Coordinate crews, subcontractors, material deliveries, schedules, safety activities, and field operations.
• Perform takeoffs, technical calculations, cost-system updates, change-order support, and estimating reviews.
• Support purchase orders, subcontracts, submittals, cost reporting, and project documentation.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction-related engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• At least two years of construction experience.
• Working knowledge of CPM scheduling, unit labor-hour performance, material control, estimating, and subcontract administration.
• Experience leading people and communicating effectively in organized, team-based environments.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed and relocate or work at varying project locations.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $90,000-$110,000 annually. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement matching, and paid time off. Relocation assistance, per diem, and paid trips home may be available for project assignments.
