Safety Manager - Power Construction 1

Job Summary

Kiewit & TIC is hiring a Safety Manager to lead and audit project-level environmental health and safety programs for power construction work. The role is based in Lenexa, Kansas, with candidates able to choose their home base while traveling continuously to projects across North America.

Project Details

The TIC Power District serves as an EPC contractor on multiple Entergy power projects, offering ongoing work and opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage project safety programs, interpret regulations, and promote safe work practices.
• Analyze incident and occupational illness data, identify hazards, and recommend corrective measures.
• Inspect facilities, equipment, machinery, and work areas for compliance and unsafe conditions.
• Coach employees, develop safety training materials, and maintain training records.
• Deliver orientations and training covering fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout, and respiratory protection.
• Coordinate with OSHA and other regulatory officials during inspections or site visits.

Required Experience

• Degree in occupational health and safety, environmental safety, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute.
• At least five years managing construction projects, specifically highway construction, and demonstrated experience leading increasingly complex safety programs.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements, hazard recognition, recordkeeping, and injury management.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, strong organization and communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
• CPR/First Aid, EMT, and OSHA or MSHA instructor certifications are preferred.
• Ability to access construction sites in varied climates and work overtime or weekends as project needs require.
