Safety Manager Kiewit Water Facilities South

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a senior-level Safety Manager to lead project-level health, safety, and environmental programs for its Water Facilities South district.

Project Details

The district delivers water treatment, wastewater treatment, desalination, and related oil and gas projects across North America. The position is based in Westlake, Texas, and requires travel to project locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead jobsite safety planning, inspections, compliance reviews, and workforce coaching.
• Manage incident investigations, corrective actions, injury management, and required reporting.
• Supervise and develop a team of three to seven safety coordinators and technicians.
• Coordinate safety training, toolbox talks, supervisor meetings, and project safety meetings.
• Partner with client representatives, project leadership, and Kiewit's home-office safety team.
• Monitor facilities, equipment, and work practices to identify and address hazards.

Required Experience

• Eight to ten or more years of experience managing large construction projects.
• Demonstrated ability to manage safety programs on increasingly complex projects.
• Knowledge of construction safety regulations, hazard recognition, recordkeeping, and injury management.
• Ability to work safely across changing weather conditions, terrain, locations, and schedules.
• Reliable attendance, effective communication, and willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed.
