Safety Manager - Electrical Construction

Job Summary

Kiewit’s Mass. Electric Construction Co. is seeking a senior-level Safety Manager to lead safety planning, compliance, training, and field oversight for industrial electrical construction projects.

Project Details

The position supports MEC’s industrial electrical construction operations and is initially based in Boise, Idaho, or New York. Project assignments may require teams to relocate according to available work and career needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, communicate, and audit site-specific safety plans.
• Partner with craft personnel, subcontractors, and field leadership to implement safe work practices.
• Conduct hazard inspections, audits, incident investigations, and root-cause reviews.
• Support corrective actions, emergency response, regulatory inspections, and incident reporting.
• Track safety performance indicators and provide reports to project and senior leadership.
• Use stop-work authority when conditions do not meet safety requirements.

Required Experience

• Five or more years of construction safety management experience, along with a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of construction safety practices and federal OSHA requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to access active construction areas in varying climates and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $120,000/yr - $155,000/yr, with variation based on education, experience, skills, and location. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life insurance, disability, retirement matching, and paid time off benefits.
