Project Superintendent Building Group

Job Summary

Kiewit Building Group is seeking a Project Superintendent to oversee field construction operations, supervise craft personnel, and support safe, timely delivery of vertical building projects. The position is based in Aiken, South Carolina, with opportunities to travel and relocate for East Coast assignments.

Project Details

The Building Group delivers office, industrial, education, sports, hospitality, healthcare, transportation, manufacturing, retail, tenant improvement, and other specialty facilities through general construction, construction management, design-build, and related delivery methods.

Responsibilities

• Direct craft work through general foremen while monitoring productivity, safety, quality, and schedule performance.
• Coordinate field engineering, subcontractors, other superintendents, and project leadership to maintain efficient workflow.
• Address workforce conflicts, grievances, and scheduling challenges, escalating issues when appropriate.
• Support planning for schedules, labor staffing, materials, and equipment.
• Confirm that project procedures, safety requirements, attendance expectations, and workplace conduct standards are followed.

Required Experience

• At least five years of construction experience, including three or more years in a supervisory capacity.
• Previous experience in vertical building construction.
• Working knowledge of construction disciplines, labor agreements, jurisdictional requirements, safety rules, scheduling, cost control, drawings, and specifications.
• Ability to evaluate craft performance, communicate effectively, organize work, and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel, work overtime or weekends as needed, and operate at varying project locations and conditions.
