Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a mid-level Project Engineer to support infrastructure construction projects from the Southern California District. The role coordinates technical, administrative, financial, and team-management activities while connecting field teams with construction management.

Project Details

The district delivers heavy civil work involving water and wastewater, transportation, roadways, earthwork, and power projects. Assignments are based across Southern California, with opportunities in Hawaii and other U.S. locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules.
• Manage revenue, costs, and cash flow information.
• Coordinate temporary engineering, permanent design, quality control, and project closeout.
• Administer contracts and subcontracts while supporting client relations and operations planning.
• Lead and mentor field and cost engineers.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction engineering, or a related field.
• At least five years of construction or engineering experience.
• Experience managing engineers and reviewing plans, specifications, and contract documents for discrepancies.
• Strong communication, organization, initiative, ethics, safety awareness, and ability to meet deadlines independently or collaboratively.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime or weekends when project needs require it.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $115,938-$121,459. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement matching, and paid time off. Relocation assistance, per diem, and paid trips home may be available for project assignments.
