Project Engineer Electrical Construction

Job Summary

Kiewit's Mass. Electric Construction Company is seeking a Project Engineer to support electrical construction project delivery from its Irvine office. This mid-level role coordinates engineering, project controls, contract administration, procurement, documentation, and project communications while supporting project leadership.

Project Details

The MEC Industrial District delivers complex electrical construction and maintenance work across industrial, power and energy, renewable energy, commercial, federal, bridge, special systems, and water-related infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans and specifications, coordinate design interfaces, and resolve constructability issues with project stakeholders.
• Maintain document control, submittal tracking, project logs, contract records, and formal project communications.
• Support schedules, cost projections, cash-flow forecasting, scopes of work, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change management.
• Coordinate contract administration, field issue distribution, design reviews, and project closeout deliverables.
• Promote company environmental health and safety programs and lead, mentor, and support project staff.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction or equivalent project or field engineering education and experience.
• At least five years of construction or engineering experience.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, planning, organization, delegation, teaching, and mentoring capabilities.
• Proficiency with project engineering functions and working knowledge of payables, receivables, materials control, estimating, job cost, and subcontract systems.
• Ability to work safely, meet deadlines, and work overtime or weekends when required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $116,000-$165,000 per year. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement matching, and paid time off.
