Mid Level Civil Engineer Kiewit Power Engineering

Job Summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is hiring a mid-level Civil Engineer to support collaborative site development and power engineering projects across its North American operations.

Project Details

The group delivers engineering solutions for gas-fired generation, power delivery, environmental retrofits, renewable energy, emerging technologies, and water and wastewater projects. The role may be based in one of several Kiewit offices or begin remotely in select markets before transitioning to a hybrid or office setting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and apply civil engineering methods for site development projects.
• Design grading, earthwork, hydrology, hydraulics, roadways, and overall site layouts.
• Develop surface models and design deliverables using Civil 3D or comparable tools.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, construction partners, designers, and project stakeholders.
• Prepare preliminary concepts, permit strategies, technical reviews, and cost-estimating alternatives.
• Plan scope, staffing, schedules, and budgets while maintaining quality standards.

Required Experience

• At least three years of civil engineering design experience in a comparable industry.
• Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• PE license or the ability to obtain one is expected.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, GeoPak, drainage software, spreadsheets, or databases is preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, self-management, and project coordination skills.
• Reliable attendance, safe work practices, and flexibility to work overtime or weekends when required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $95,000-$100,000 per year. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement matching, and paid time off.
