Job Summary

Kiewit Power Constructors is seeking a Project Engineer for its Homer City assignment. This mid-level role supports the administrative, technical, cost, schedule, and field coordination needs of a major power construction project while helping lead and develop engineering staff.

Project Details

Kiewit Power Constructors delivers direct-hire construction for power generation projects, including major power plants and solar farms throughout North America, using a union craft workforce. The team may be based in Lenexa, Kansas, with relocation driven by project availability and career development needs.

Responsibilities

• Interpret contract drawings and specifications, inspect field conditions, identify discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Build and maintain the project schedule with input from project management personnel.
• Control drawings and contract documents, assess revisions, and communicate changes to field teams.
• Prepare monthly cost forecasts and quarterly cash-flow projections.
• Coordinate project operations, staffing, procedures, and technical information for the construction team.
• Supervise and mentor engineers while supporting the broader project team.
• Promote environmental health and safety practices at the project level.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• At least five years of construction or engineering experience.
• At least two years managing engineers.
• Ability to analyze plans, specifications, and contract documents and identify discrepancies.
• Strong communication, organization, time-management, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, travel or relocate, and work overtime or weekends when required.
