Kiewit Building Group - Field Engineer (Entry-Level)

Job Summary

Kiewit Building Group is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer to support field and office operations on vertical construction projects. This full-time role offers hands-on development, training, and advancement with a large national contractor.

Project Details

Assignments may involve office buildings, industrial complexes, hospitals, hotels, schools, sports facilities, government buildings, transportation terminals, retail spaces, and tenant improvements. Projects are located throughout the United States, with placement determined near the start date.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans and specifications, calculate quantities, support surveying, and maintain as-built information.
• Prepare work plans, job hazard analyses, material orders, schedules, purchase documents, and subcontract information.
• Coordinate field crews and subcontractors, supervise site operations, and support safety meetings and training.
• Maintain daily reports, photographs, RFIs, correspondence, cost data, and project records.
• Assist with material takeoffs, engineering calculations, technical drafting, change orders, estimates, and project cost reviews.
• Support field and office teams with project data, customer submittals, bid reviews, and construction planning.

Required Experience

• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction or an engineering-related field.
• Willingness to travel and relocate to project locations in cities of varying sizes.
• Strong communication, organization, initiative, safety awareness, ethics, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with teams, access all areas of a construction site, and work overtime or weekends when required.
• Leadership experience is required; prior internship experience is preferred.
• Reliable transportation to and from work is required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $80,000-$90,000 per year. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, wellness and employee assistance programs, life and disability insurance, retirement plans with matching, and paid time off. Relocation assistance and reimbursement may increase with career progression.
