Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking an entry-level Field/Office Engineer for its Southeast District. The role supports field operations, project administration, estimating, and construction engineering on major regional projects.

Project Details

The Southeast District delivers heavy civil, transportation, water resource, power, and industrial work across the Southeast and East Coast. Assignments may include bridges, airports, transit systems, canals, dams, pump stations, and tunnels.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, calculate quantities, support surveying and layout, and compile as-built information.
• Help prepare work plans, job hazard analyses, material orders, schedules, and daily labor records.
• Coordinate jobsite work groups, support subcontractors, supervise field operations, and participate in safety meetings and training.
• Prepare takeoffs, engineering calculations, project records, RFIs, cost data, purchase documents, and change-order support.
• Assist with bid reviews, production and cost analysis, specification reviews, and estimating takeoffs.

Required Experience

• Zero to one year of related construction experience.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong organization, communication, attention to detail, teamwork, and independent-work skills.
• Ability to access construction sites in varied climates and work overtime or weekends when required.
