Field Engineer - Power Market

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer to support field operations for major power construction projects. The role offers broad exposure to project controls, craft management, safety, quality, and contract administration.

Project Details

The Power Market delivers EPC and bid-build work involving natural gas power plants, solar fields, nuclear facilities, and energy storage systems throughout North America. Assignments may involve union or non-union craft teams and relocation to project sites across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop work plans, schedules, estimates, material takeoffs, and cost controls for mechanical, electrical, and heavy industrial construction.
• Review drawings and specifications, coordinate subcontractors and vendors, and support field and administrative operations.
• Track quality, costs, materials, equipment logistics, and schedule performance.
• Support site safety programs and maintain relationships with owners and project stakeholders.

Required Experience

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of construction safety, OSHA standards, scheduling, cost control, drawings, and owner specifications.
• Microsoft Office proficiency; experience with Hard Dollar, Revit, SAP, Pro Log, or Primavera P6 is beneficial.
• Strong organization, communication, attention to detail, independent judgment, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work on active construction sites, including overtime and weekends, and willingness to travel or relocate.

Compensation and Benefits

Base compensation is $85,000-$90,000 per year. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement plans with matching, and paid time off.
