Job Summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is hiring a Field Engineer to support construction execution and engineering coordination on active Department of Energy and advanced nuclear projects in Aiken, South Carolina. The position works on site daily and connects project management, engineering, construction crews, subcontractors, and field leadership.

Project Details

The role supports an active DOE construction site within Kiewit’s nuclear solutions business, with opportunities across mechanical, electrical, and civil/structural disciplines. Work may require relocation to other projects in the Southeast and Northwest.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans and specifications and support field layout, surveying, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and craft workforce activities.
• Track quantities, production, schedules, costs, work packages, and daily project reporting.
• Maintain RFIs, correspondence, records, change-order documentation, procurement files, and subcontract administration.
• Participate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, toolbox talks, and site safety reviews.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs, review project risks and historical costs, and assist with estimates and bids.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Two to five or more years of construction field experience.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications, and contract documents and support engineering or construction activities.
• Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, safety, and professional judgment skills.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a security background check for facility access.
• Reliable attendance, willingness to work overtime and weekends when required, and ability to work safely in active construction environments.
