Field Engineer II

Job Summary

Kiewit Power Delivery is seeking a Field Engineer II / Estimator to support power delivery projects through estimating, project controls, field engineering, and construction execution. The role is based in Lenexa or at project sites and offers development toward future project engineering, superintendent, construction management, or project management positions.

Project Details

Assignments support electric utility and power delivery work, including transmission and distribution projects, across office, active construction, outage, turnaround, and temporary or long-term field environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity takeoffs, labor and equipment calculations, material pricing, proposals, and bid packages.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope documents while supporting bid reviews and risk assessments.
• Assist field and project management teams with planning, scheduling, cost tracking, procurement, documentation, and progress reporting.
• Maintain RFIs, submittals, change orders, daily reports, and project records.
• Track quantities, labor productivity, costs, earned value, and schedule performance.
• Participate in safety meetings, audits, inspections, quality control, and risk mitigation activities.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, construction engineering technology, or a related discipline.
• At least two years supporting large construction, infrastructure, industrial, energy, manufacturing, or EPC projects.
• Knowledge of construction processes, estimating, project controls, field operations, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities with Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Willingness to work across office and field assignments, relocate as needed, travel extensively, and work extended schedules, overtime, or weekends.
