Field Engineer Electrical Construction

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a mid-level Field Engineer to support electrical construction operations, project controls, safety, quality, and contract administration for transit and rail infrastructure work.

Project Details

Mass. Electric Construction Company delivers transit and rail systems throughout the United States and Canada, including overhead contact systems, traction power substations, signaling, train control, communications, and control centers. The position may be assigned to projects nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans and specifications, support field layout and surveying, and prepare quantity measurements and as-built information.
• Develop work plans, job hazard analyses, schedules, material orders, and delivery plans.
• Coordinate and supervise field crews and subcontractors while participating in safety meetings and site reviews.
• Maintain project records, daily reports, RFIs, correspondence, cost data, and schedule updates.
• Support submittals, purchase orders, subcontracts, change orders, estimating reviews, and bid quantity takeoffs.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least two years of construction field experience; light or high-speed rail experience is preferred.
• Broad knowledge of technical electrical systems and experience working in engineering or leading engineers are preferred.
• Ability to interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents and identify discrepancies.
• Strong communication, organization, initiative, safety awareness, ethics, and teamwork.
• Ability to access construction sites in varied environments and work overtime or weekends when required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $95,000-$105,000 per year. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement plans with matching, and paid time off.
