Field Engineer Electrical Construction

Job Summary

Mass. Electric Construction Co., a Kiewit company, is seeking a mid-level Field Engineer to support electrical construction projects through field engineering, project controls, estimating, and coordination activities. The position is based in Irvine, with assignments also available in several locations across California, Arizona, Kansas, and Missouri.

Project Details

The MEC Industrial District delivers technically demanding electrical construction work for industrial and infrastructure clients. The role may involve relocation according to project availability, career development plans, and team needs.

Responsibilities

• Interpret construction drawings and specifications, calculate installed quantities, and support layout, surveying, and as-built documentation.
• Prepare work plans, work packages, job hazard analyses, reports, RFIs, correspondence, and project records.
• Coordinate material deliveries, work groups, schedules, subcontractors, and field operations.
• Support safety reviews, toolbox talks, training, cost tracking, change orders, purchase orders, and subcontracts.
• Complete plan reviews, production and cost analysis, and material takeoffs for estimating activities.

Required Experience

• At least 3 years of construction field experience, including engineering and leadership experience.
• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents and identify discrepancies.
• Strong communication, organization, time management, initiative, ethics, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to access active construction sites in varied environments and work overtime or weekends when required.

Compensation and Benefits
