Equipment Engineer (Homer City, PA) - Kiewit Equipment Services

Job Summary

Kiewit Equipment Services is seeking an entry-level Equipment Engineer to support construction and mining operations by improving fleet planning, utilization, maintenance, and mechanical reliability. The position is based in Homer City, Pennsylvania, with an immediate start and relocation to project locations as business needs change.

Project Details

The role supports regional construction and mining equipment fleets, including work associated with power-market operations. Assignments may occur in equipment yards, offices, and active construction environments across varying locations and conditions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, budget, and coordinate construction and mining equipment resources.
• Monitor preventive maintenance programs and use reliability data to improve equipment availability.
• Inspect equipment and parts, manage material procurement, and maintain tool and filter documentation.
• Coordinate logistics, critical-lift preparation, parts inventory, maintenance crews, and quality and safety activities.
• Communicate with supervisors, managers, technicians, and other project stakeholders.
• Follow applicable health, safety, environmental, and company requirements, including attendance and deadline expectations.

Required Experience

• Undergraduate associate or bachelor's degree in diesel or automotive technology, heavy equipment technology, mechanical engineering technology, construction management, structural engineering, or civil engineering.
• At least one year of equipment experience is preferred.
• Experience with equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting is preferred.
• Strong organization, communication, time management, attention to detail, and prioritization skills.
• Willingness to work in both office and field settings, travel, relocate, and work overtime or weekends when required.
• Knowledge of CAD modeling programs is preferred.
• Ability to access construction sites and equipment yards in varied climates and environments.
