Electrical Commissioning Superintendent

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Superintendent to lead safe, high-quality commissioning and turnover of major electrical systems on large industrial projects in and around Abilene, Texas.

Project Details

The role supports complex industrial and mission-critical work, including data center power, utility, and infrastructure systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily safety activities, including electrical permitting and lockout/tagout compliance.
• Direct pre-commissioning, functional testing, start-up, energization, and system turnover for power distribution equipment, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, grounding, and controls.
• Conduct walk-downs, resolve deficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Coordinate engineering, construction, operations, vendors, and original equipment manufacturers to achieve readiness milestones.
• Lead approximately 20 electrical and instrumentation technicians through commissioning and turnover.
• Track progress, provide leadership updates, and maintain checklists, test records, redlines, and turnover documentation.

Required Experience

• Experience commissioning large-scale electrical systems and infrastructure.
• Electrical engineering degree or related education preferred; equivalent field experience may be considered.
• Experience leading electrical and instrumentation teams through system turnover.
• Familiarity with completions software and electrical readiness workflows.
• Strong planning, coordination, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends, travel to varying project locations, and meet safety and schedule requirements.
